RE: Oceano Dunes / Pismo trip

That picture was on Wed. When we left on saturday it was quite full behind us. I think we'll stick to the week next time for sure. We're not big on crowds. In a couple of weeks the big crowds will be all gone. It's great to be there when no one is around.

RE: Fullerton - Raptor Sighting Pulling Doubles on Gilbert

When made a hitch for ours. My neighbor cut a hole for a 2" reciever tube that was long enough to reach the first cross member. welded there. add more cross member in the middle and welded around the hole he cut out. Added the plug for lights and a place to hook up chains. Pretty easy really. Just look under the rear of your trailer find some places to weld and cut a whole in the center of the rear bumper.

RE: Fullerton - Raptor Sighting Pulling Doubles on Gilbert

Ca. does allow pulling doubles with proper endorsements but neither of the trailers can be over 28' in length and you can not be over the max length of 65' or 70' (can't remember which one off the top of my head). I think its 65' for truck trailer. 75' doubles.

RE: Oceano Dunes / Pismo trip

If you do dig your own fire pit. Dig deep and cover it up before you leave. That way some else does not come up on it unexpected.

RE: Just got home with the new TH....:) New pics added.

Now you just need a real truck to pull it with. Just out of curiousity. Whats a real truck? And can you define it please?

RE: pismo

1. non potable water and dumping is next to the La Seige Riviera Rv Park. Grand ave near the Amtrak. Go North on I think its Price street. First L/H turn you'll see it on the right hand side. Kinda tight so be carefull. 2. Diesel 76 on Grand Ave about 1/2 mile from Amtrak to the East. 3. yes. They also have drinking water there, on the right side along the fence just beyond the dump area. At least the sign said "Drinking Water". Good to see you out there, bro. Next time stay longer and have some drinks with us. Not to highjack the OP. But had a really good time with Mikey, Chrome and there buddy Thomas. Diffently going to have to stay longer for the next one. I haven't seen the drinking water anywhere. I know Buford said there is some somewhere around the PCH Loop or something.

RE: Rear hitch to tag tow????????

We cut out a 2 inch reciever in the rear crossframe (bumper) added some reinforced crossmembers to weld to all the way across from outside beams. Hooked up electrical to brakes lights. Maybe 75$ in parts. No pics of the actually reciever.

I'm cornfused... what the heck is the e-track for? Its to help tie down the toys. Rather than tying down at the corners of the garage.

RE: Full-timing in a TH?

We did for about 3 months till the wife gave birth. And then it got hot, really hot. So now we are in an apartment waiting for our house to be built. We (I) really wanted a large 3 slider w/ garage to live in and have to play in later. But that did not happen. The best floorplans IMO. A large garage 12 or more feet, 3 or more slides w/ a side aisle bathroom. Check for lost of storeage.

RE: Pismo Beach

We were there this past weekend. Pretty crowded on the beach. Lots of campers. There would be a lot more room if the IDIOTS would not rope off 1/2 an acre to themselves. If your one of those that does this, thats BS on your part.

RE: Any Toyhauler Models For A Toyota Tacoma

My son has a 2003 Toyota Tacoma (V6) and is not willing to move up to a full sized pick-up. He loves his little truck :B Are there any small feather weight self contained toyhaulers that he might consider a match for pulling with his Toyota? He would be hauling one dirt bike. Where's Viking? He's got a little truck.:B

RE: ADD A HITCH TO THE TOYHAULER?

Many states including us here in Calif only allow doubles (two trailers) with the first being a fifth wheel. In addition in Calif you will need a commercial drivers license with a doubles endorsement. The first sentence is not true. ( imagine that, incorrect info on the internet ). The second sentence however is correct. I have searched the California Vehicle Code and cannot find anything that addresses this. .. meaning I don't know. BUT! What I do know is that I have asked several CHPs about this. Most have no clue. One I asked said that the first trailer has to be a 5th wheel trailer. He's usually pretty knowledgeable. Now he may be wrong but you'll have to argue in court because he will write a ticket for it. Actually there is a VC that states this. Can't remember off the top off my head. But, everyone follow me here. 1. Class A w/ double and trips endorsement. 2. That means the law is "Commercial" 3. Semi trailer being the first trailer. A semi trailer is a trailer with out a front supporting axle or something like that. Hinse a 5th wheel. Wiki It all goes back to Commercial and not RV. Thats where the law changes to CDL.
